Five ways to work with us
We are a small, locally rooted research foundation with technical capability in remote sensing and spatial analysis, and a seat at the table where South Sumatra's economic transition is being planned. Here is what that is useful for.
Research collaboration
Joint studies with universities, research institutes and other foundations. We bring local access, field knowledge of the sector, and spatial analysis capacity. We are looking for partners on post-mining land, reclamation and regional transition.
Commissioned studies and policy briefs
For regional government, ministries and development partners who need a specific question answered with defensible evidence: baselines, land-cover assessments, sector analysis, and briefs written for people who have to decide something.
Independent monitoring and evidence support
Transformation programmes need monitoring that is not carried out by the parties being monitored. We can supply repeatable, data-based tracking of land-use change and programme delivery, and publish it openly.
Support the open-access journal
We are building a free, open-access journal for students and lecturers in the region writing on resources and mining. It is the cheapest thing on this list to fund and the one with the longest tail: it creates publishing capacity in a region that currently has almost none, and every article stays free to read.
Support can be a one-off contribution to ISSN registration, hosting and editorial setup, or a multi-year commitment to running costs.
Training and workshops
Research methods, spatial analysis and scientific writing, for students, early-career researchers and professionals in the region.
Training is free to attend. Certification is paid, and that revenue is put back into running further training rather than treated as a margin.
What we can commit to
- Method and sources published with every output.
- Funding and commissioning disclosed on the work itself.
- No position taken for or against extraction. We report what the data shows.
- Independent audit on request, and as a matter of course once required by law.
